This November, a team of friends, family and supporters will head to Barcelona to take on one of the world's fastest-growing fitness challenges — raising money for the McMillan Family Trust along the way.
On 13 November 2026, our team will take on HYROX Barcelona, putting months of training to the test while raising funds to help create more opportunities for young people.
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a global fitness race that combines running and functional exercise in one challenging competition.
Every HYROX race follows the same format: competitors complete eight 1km runs, with each run followed by a functional workout station.
Across the race, participants take on:
- 1km SkiErg
- Sled Push
- Sled Pull
- Burpee Broad Jumps
- 1km Row
- Farmers Carry
- Sandbag Lunges
- Wall Balls
By the finish line, each competitor will have completed 8km of running and all eight workout stations.
The event is designed to test strength, endurance and determination, with people around the world competing individually, in doubles or as part of a relay team.
Taking on the challenge together
Our group has committed to training for and completing HYROX Barcelona together, turning the challenge into an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the McMillan Family Trust.
The challenge is also being undertaken in honour of Terry and Brendan McMillan, whose commitment to giving back and passion for community continue to inspire the Trust's next chapter.
But ultimately, this challenge is about looking forward.
Every kilometre we run, every station we complete and every donation we receive will help us build momentum behind the Trust and the work we want to deliver for young people.
What we're raising money for
Funds raised through HYROX Barcelona will support the McMillan Family Trust's work with young people aged 11–18, helping us create opportunities through sport, education, mentoring, personal development and new experiences.
We want to work alongside schools, sports clubs, community organisations and other partners to reach young people who may face barriers to accessing these opportunities.
From helping a young person participate in sport to providing mentoring, educational experiences or opportunities to discover something completely new, the money raised will help us turn the support of our community into meaningful action.
Follow Our Journey to Barcelona
HYROX Barcelona isn't just about race day.
Over the coming months, our team will be training, fundraising and preparing together — and we'll be sharing the journey along the way.
Whether you donate, share our fundraising page, support the team or follow our progress, you'll be helping us create more opportunities for the next generation.
13 November 2026. Barcelona. 8 kilometres. 8 workout stations. One team raising money for a shared purpose.
